ABOUT NCC

National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development movement. It has enormous potential for nation building.

The NCC Provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development with a sense of Duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline and Moral Values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens.

The NCC provides exposure to the cadets in a wide range of activities, with a distinct emphasis on Social Services, Discipline and Adventure Training.

The NCC is open to all regular students of schools and colleges on a voluntary basis all over India.

The cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.

AIM OF NCC

The 'Aims' of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

  • MOTTO OF NCC
    Unity And Discipline
  • The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline” which was adopted on 23 Des.1957. In living up to its motto, the NCC strive to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and moulding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of the nation.
  • NCC Pledge
  • We the cadet of the national cadet corps, do solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India. We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizen of our nation. We shall undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings.
  • NCC FLAG
  • The NCC flag for various units of the NCC was first introduced in 1951. The flag was of same pattern, colour & size as was used by various regiments of the Army. The only difference was that it had the NCC badge & unit designation placed in the centre. In 1954 the existing tricolour flag was introduced. The three colours in the flag depict the three services of the Corps, red for the Army, deep blue for the Navy & light blue for the Air Force. The letters NCC & the NCC crest in gold in the middle of the flag encircled by a wreath of lotus (17Directorates), give the flag a colourful look & a distinct identity.

    NSS

    The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the student youth of 11th & 12th Class of schools at +2 Board level and student youth of Technical Institution, Graduate & Post Graduate at colleges and University level of India to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service.

    The NSS is a cell to develop the social service thoughts among the youngsters especially college students. K.S.R College of arts and science for women anticipates every student of the college to be focused towards particular goal and ingenious in protecting the wellbeing of younger generations. The activities of the cell include boundless programmes through awareness lectures, public rallies, competitions, poster exhibitions, organizing campaigns etc. The cell also associates with the counselling cell, discipline committee and other units of the college to provide counselling support, moral guidelines etc to needy students. In addition to this, NSS and Tamil Nadu Youth welfare Department makes joint endeavors to address the service tendency in young generations.

    Youth Red Cross

    Youth Red Cross is to inculcate in the Youth of our country awareness on the care of their own health and that of others the understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities and acting accordingly with humanitarian concern, to fulfil the same to enable the growth and development. It functions with the one and only aim of serving people in distress without any consideration of caste, religion, language and nationality.

Under their leadership, participants engaged in hands-on activities where they explored creative design techniques, exchanged innovative ideas, and collaboratively developed accessible and visually engaging solutions. The session created an inclusive and supportive environment, encouraging students to confidently contribute to the design community while focusing on clarity, accessibility, and innovative brand transformation.

    The Swiftly Design Challenge by the Design Galaxy Club is an exciting event that puts creativity and speed to the test. Participants are required to design original visuals within a limited time, encouraging fast thinking and innovative problem-solving. This challenge helps develop essential design skills in graphic design, UI/UX, and branding, while simulating real-world scenarios where time is of the essence. Every design must be smart, impactful, and completed quickly, allowing participants to showcase their talent under pressure. The event creates a fun and competitive atmosphere, motivating designers to push their creative limits. It is a great opportunity to learn, improve, and gain recognition among peers.     The Spot Lens event organized by the Design Galaxy Club is a creative challenge focused on keen observation and design interpretation. Participants are given images, objects, or scenarios and must analyze them carefully to identify hidden design elements or visual patterns. The challenge tests the ability to spot details that others may overlook and encourages innovative thinking. It helps improve visual perception, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills. Designers must interpret the given content and present their insights through creative visual designs or explanations. This event promotes sharp observation combined with artistic expression.     The Tech Pictionary event by the Design Galaxy Club is a fun and engaging challenge that blends technology concepts with creative drawing skills. Participants take turns drawing tech-related terms, gadgets, or concepts while others guess what they represent. This event tests both technical knowledge and artistic creativity, encouraging participants to think visually and conceptually. It promotes quick thinking, effective communication, and teamwork in a playful environment. The challenge helps participants sharpen their understanding of technology while making the learning process enjoyable. It’s a perfect way to combine fun, learning, and design thinking.     Journalism and Media Club

    Journalism and Media Club organized event on ‘News Flash: Read it, Report it!’ on 28.07.2025. Students participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their skills in reading and reporting like professionals.

    The Journalism and Media Club organized a storytelling workshop titled ‘Beyond the Lens’ 22.08.2025. The event encouraged attendees to explore the art of narrative from a new perspective. Students narrated stories in their own unique styles, making the workshop a very useful experience. The event provided practical insights into crafting compelling narratives, inspiring participants to tell more impactful stories.

    The Journalism and Media Club organized a workshop on ‘The Revival of Kamari Kandam’ 25.08.2025. The resource person, Thiru. T.K.V. Rajan, Editor, Archaeologist and Director of the Indian Science Monitor, conducted a very useful and beneficial workshop. The session provided attendees with a fresh perspective on ancient Tamil civilization and encouraged a deeper appreciation for their rich heritage.

    The Journalism and Media Club arranged a specialized training session at the KSR FM station, where students were able to gain real-world experience in radio jockeying and production. This valuable opportunity allowed them to apply their knowledge in a professional environment.

    The Software Chaser’s Association session was conducted by Club Presidents from K.Gayathri Harini III – B.Sc Computer Science and A.Saja Fathima from II-B.Sc Computer Science on 30.08.2025. To enhance programming skills, teamwork and creative problem-solving among students while giving them exposure to current trends in software development. Guided by their leadership, the participants took part in interactive sessions that fostered creative design thinking and the exchange of fresh ideas. Working together, they built visually appealing and accessible solutions, while the inclusive atmosphere motivated everyone to share confidently and contribute to the design community.

    Red Ribbion Club

    The Red Ribbon Club is a vibrant student-led initiative dedicated to spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS, promoting healthy lifestyles, and fostering a sense of social responsibility among the youth. Established under the guidance of the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), the club actively engages students in educational and outreach programs focused on health, wellness, and community service.

    The red ribbon symbolizes solidarity with those living with HIV/AIDS and the commitment to fight stigma and misinformation. Through awareness rallies, seminars, workshops, blood donation drives, and peer education, the RRC empowers students to lead the way in building a compassionate, informed, and health-conscious society.

    Objectives of RRC
    • To prepare youth as peer educators/agents of change both among youth as well as society at large by developing their skills on leadership, advocacy, communication and team building.
    • To serve as forums for students to participate in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
